Have not you always wanted to get to know the other Florida? The nature, the country life and the sights, even off the beaten track. In addition to the Space Center, Orlando, St. Augustine, Tampa, Miami and Key West we also show you the mysterious coast on the Gulf of Mexico. The horse breeding or the cigars turn and a local brewery are other highlights on this trip. Join us on a journey that shows you the diversity of Florida, from Miami to Key West.
Day 1 Europe – Miami
Upon arrival at the airport, welcome by our tour guide and transfer to your hotel. Overnight in Miami.
Day 2 Miami – Everglades National Park – Fort Myers
After breakfast drive to Everglades National Park. On a propeller boat trip you will discover part of the vastness of the park, with its variety of flora and fauna, with its many different birds, crocodiles and alligators. Depending on the water conditions, these come almost to the boat, so that the small but very dangerous reptiles could be caressed. Then we go to the show, where we introduce you to the famous Alligator Wrestling. In the late afternoon you reach the Gulf Coast and drive along to Fort Myers, where you will spend the night.
Day 3 Fort Myers – Tampa – Orlando
This day is all about Tampa Bay. First we drive along the white sands of the Gulf Coast, passing Fort Charlotte, Venice and Sarasota and arriving at Tampa Bay. The Sunshine Skyway Bridge spans Tampa Bay and connects the city of Sarasota and Terra Ceia State Park with Saint Petersburg. With a length of 8851 meters, it is one of the longest bridges with a cable-stayed central opening. Also known as “Sunshine City,” Saint Petersburg was founded in 1875 by General John C. Williams of Detroit. Ybor City, a Cuban district in Tampa, was founded in the 19th century as the center of cigar manufacturing. The cigars from Tampa were so popular that Tampa even became the “Cigar Capital of the World”. Visitors can still watch how one turns a real Cuban cigar. The journey continues to Orlando. Dinner and overnight in Orlando.
Day 4 Orlando – Kennedy Space Center
Today is all about “Future World”, the Kennedy Space Center. On a tour of the center you have the opportunity to make interesting visits in various places. You will see the launch pad and visit the space center from inside and also take part in a simultaneous start. Exciting is also one of the Imax films, partly in 3D, which introduce you to the world in space. The day ends again in Orlando. Dinner and overnight in Orlando.
Day 5 Orlando – St. Augustine
You leave Orlando heading northeast and drive through the interior to Daytona Beach. Well-known here are the annual speedways and the legendary motorcycle meetings. After a stop at the racetrack we head to the beach, which incidentally is the only one on which vehicles are allowed to drive on the beach. Next destination is the oldest city in America, St. Augustine. During a tour we will devote the rest of the day to the beautiful, historic district and Castillo de San Marcos, which you can visit from the outside, and the small old town with its narrow streets and small shops. In the late afternoon you drive back to Orlando. Dinner and overnight in Orlando.
Day 6 Orlando – Fort Pierce – Miami
From Orlando, drive through the partially marshy interior to Fort Pierce. The city is a center of cattle breeding in Florida. Although not far from the beach, the city is not one of the preferred holiday areas. The Atlantic coast is quite different along the US1, which we will follow for a short while. Places like Jupiter or West Palm Beach are the quiet cities on the south coast of Florida. In the late afternoon drive to Miami, where you will spend the night.
Day 7 city tour in Miami
After breakfast, you will get to know this eclectic city on a tour. South Beach, with its Art Deco style, Downtown, the Port of Miami and of course Coral Gables with its many different villas. From the simple to the multimillionaire lifestyle everything is here. The architecture and the architectural style, which you will also find here on the canals, are also varied. The Venecian Pool and Biltmore Hotel are also on this tour. The tour ends at Bayside, which became famous through the crime series “Miami Vice”, where you can fortify yourself at the Foodcourt. Enjoy your free time or take part in an unforgettable boat trip to the “islands of the rich” (optional). You can end the evening with a light tour of Miami and dinner (optional). Overnight in Miami.
Day 8 Miami – Key West
Impressive is the drive over small islands and bridges to the former pirate paradise Key West. A highlight is the 7 Miles Bridge, which presents itself majestically over the Gulf of Mexico with a span of 11 km. Day destination is the southernmost town in America, Key West. The city was once known by the pirates, who had an ideal hideout here and started their forays from Key West. Today it is a place of pleasure for those who want to switch off from everyday life. Painters, artists and many celebrities have visited here. A tour also takes you to America’s southernmost point, which is only 90 miles from Cuba. In the evening you should enjoy the breathtaking sunset in Key West (weather permitting!). Overnight in Key West.
